COMPOSITION
Diminazene Aceturate--- 1.05 mg
Vitamin B12--- 1 mg
PROPERTIES
Diminazene Aceturate belongs to the class of aromatic diamidines. It is a traditionally used broad-spectrum anti-blood protozoan. For example, it has a therapeutic effect on domestic animal piriformis, trypanosoma and anaplasma.
Used for trypanosomiasis caused by trypanosomiasis and equine disease. This product selectively blocks the DNA synthesis and replication of the trypanosomal motif, and irreversibly combines with the nucleus, so that the trypanosomal motif disappears and cannot split and reproduce. This product is highly toxic and has a small safety range. It will also cause uneasy getting up and lying down, frequent urination, muscle tremor and other adverse reactions when applied to the therapeutic dose. Care should be taken when continuously using it. Intramuscular injection, one dose, per 1 kg of body weight, 3 to 4 mg for horses and 3 to 5 mg for cattle and sheep.
Diminazene + vitamin B12 granule is a mixture of diminazene and Vitamin B12 .
Diminazene Aceturate is an anti-protozoic substance, active against Trypanosoma , Babesia spp. and Theileria annulata.
Vitamin B12 are essential in the treatment of anemia.
INDICATIONS
Prevention and treatment of trypanosomiasis (nagana, surra, dourine).
- Treatment of babesiosis.
Treatment of theileriosis caused by Theileria annulata.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Dissolve 1 sachet of 2.36 g in 12.5 ml (or 1 sachet of 23.6 g powder in 125 ml) of sterile water for injection to obtain a ready-to- use 7 solution( 70 mg/ml).
Subcutaneous or intramuscular administration, the latter is recommended in horses.
Treatment of trypanosomiasis:
- horses, cattle:3.5 mg of diminazene diaceturate/ kg b.w. (1 ml/ 20 kg b.w.).
- camels:12.5 mg of diminazene diaceturate/ kg b.w. (1 ml/ 55 kg b.w.). Treatment of babesiosis:
horses, cattle, dogs 3.5 mg of diminazene diaceturate/ kg b.w. (1mV/ 20 kg b.w.).
Treatment of theileriosis
cattle: 5 mg of diminazene diaceturate/ kg b w. (1 ml14 kg b.w.)
CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Severe hepatic and renal impairment.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Multiple therapeutic doses produce nervous signs especially in dogs and camels.
Slaughter: 21 days
Milk delivery: 3 days.
